Alleluia
is a “hands-on” program that focuses on being part of God’s
family through baptism. The course is based on the Alleluia Series written
by Carole Arenson and published by Augsburg Fortress Publishing and runs
for 12 sessions each fall. There are many interactive activities including
singing, playing instruments, prayers, crafts, and much more. There is
even a newly recorded Alleluia Music CD for each child’s home use.
One
of the very special Alleluia experiences is the celebration
of baptismal anniversaries for each child who receives his or her own
engraved candle and certificate. Entire families are often present to
help remember the day of baptism by telling stories and showing photos,
etc. This is also an opportune time for any child to be baptized.
Other highlights include:
- Visit from
Pastor Roger Gordon
- Carole
Arenson and Boots, the Church Cat, share a book reading
- Tour Baptismal
Font
- Tour the
KOG Organ
- Family
Christmas Celebration including interactive drama with Carole
Alleluia
is an excellent preparation for Children’s Choir (1st - 3rd grades)!
It is not a duplication of the music learning offered in Children’s
Choir and Shalom Singers. |
